vs

Halo and Zitadel

Choose Halo when

  • The directory is for employees and contractors, with access reviews and lifecycle rules.
  • You need the Apache-2.0 licence. Zitadel's server is AGPL-3.0, with a paid licence if you cannot accept that.
  • You are not building a multi-tenant login service for your own customers.

Choose Zitadel when

  • You are adding login to a B2B product and want instances, organizations, and a hosted login.
  • You want ZITADEL Cloud, or the same feature set self-hosted, including their SCIM server.
  • AGPL-3.0 is acceptable, or you will buy their commercial licence.
